The Ethics in Public Service Act encourages all Executive branch officers and employees to attend ethics training offered by the Executive Ethics Board at least once every 36 months. (RCW 42.52.365(2)). Please feel free to call us at 360.664.0871 to schedule training for your agency.

Online Ethics Quiz: Test your knowledge of the states ethics laws by taking the Ethics Challenge, a question and answer session regarding ethics in general.

 

Leadership and Employee Training : The Executive Ethics Board staff provides training to Leadership and Executive Management Teams as well as to employees. For more information please email us at ethics@atg.wa.gov, or call us at 360-664-0871.

Training aides for Supervisors and Leads: These handouts give supervisors and leads the tools to provide mini training sessions during regular staff meetings on the Ethics in Public Service Act. Download and print these out and use them at your next staff meeting.

 

Agency Provided Ethics Training: The Executive Ethics Board staff has created an Agency Guide and Answer Key for agency's to provide in house Ethics Training.

 

New Employee Orientation: The Executive Ethics Board staff has put together handouts for new employees that provide all of the necessary information regarding the Ethics in Public Service Act. Download and print these to include at your next New Employee Orientation.

 

Ethics in Public Service in person training

 

Executive Ethics Board staff is available to provide training to state employees. Upon completion, the student will have a basic understanding of the ethical standards in place for state employees and state officials.


Ethical concepts will be explained and practical tools provided so state employees will know how to handle ethical issues when they arise in the workplace.  Through the use of hypothetical situations, students will learn what conduct is appropriate and options to take when faced with similar dilemmas in their agency.


The student will also gain a working knowledge of the role of the Executive Ethics Board and the complaint process.

 Online Training: WA-State Ethics in State Government is a 90 minute online training through the Washington Learning Mangement System (LMS). This course highlights the Ethics in Public Service Act, RCW 42.52 and WAC 292-110-010, Use of State Resources.

 

Upon completion, the student will have the same basic understanding of the ethical standards in place for state employees and state officials as with in person training.
